Biochemical Markers

C Reactive protein (CRP) is a marker of inflammation that has been demostrated as a predictor of risk in both seemingly healthy people and patients of coronary illness. An increase in the leves of CRP has been established in patients with degenerative stenosis aortic suggesting that the inflammation recovers a role in the pathogeny of the same one. The degree of progression of the aortic stenosis is different in the different patients and it would be desirable the identification of the patiens whose progress is quicker. Our group studied the relation between the serics levels of CRP and the speed of progression of the aortic stenosis, realizing that the levels of PRC are higher in patients with degenerative aortic stenosis with fast progression of the disease. These discoverys suggest that the inflammation can play an important role in the pathogeny of the degenerative aortic stenosis. RelationCRPAorticStenosis.pdf BioquemicalMarkers.bmp
